Solar Steam making progress on three continents

18 September 2018

Mexican trials of Larkfleet’s Solar Steam project are about to take a significant step forward with the construction of a new test rig incorporating new Fresnel lenses.

The new rig will be an important milestone on the path towards commercial scale manufacture of systems which is planned to start in 2019.

The pre-commercial demonstrator is being developed at Morales in Mexico in collaboration with local academic and industrial partners and with the support of Queen Mary University of London.

Meanwhile, trials of a mobile version for the Indian market are continuing in association with Cranfield University and an Indian solar collector manufacturer.

And in Kenya, Larkfleet has been talking to potential partners about developing the system to help the country’s agricultural sector which needs a cheap and reliable source of heat that can be used for treating water and for refrigeration.
